Thai Airways to Conclude Restructuring
Thai Airways has announced its strategic plan to conclude its financial restructuring process by 2025, signaling a pivotal moment in the airline's recovery. Following a period of turbulence exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and long-term financial challenges, the airline is focusing on regrowth and service enhancements.
One of the key highlights of the revival strategy is the reintroduction of premium economy class to its fleet, catering to the growing demand for a mid-tier offering between economy and business class. This addition aligns with global trends in air travel, where passengers are increasingly seeking comfort at an affordable price point. The new service is expected to target leisure and corporate travelers, especially on long-haul routes.
Thai Airways’ exit from restructuring will also involve fleet optimisation, partnerships with regional airlines, and a refreshed focus on profitability. By leveraging Bangkok’s status as a key travel hub, the airline aims to restore its competitive edge and strengthen its position in the Southeast Asian market.
This initiative is part of the airline's broader efforts to modernise its operations and adapt to a post-pandemic aviation landscape
